TIPS@TIMed is a regional Technology Transfer Office (TTO) project of National Biopharma Mission, BIRAC set up at SCTIMST-TIMed (www.timed.org.in). The mandate of TIPS@TIMed is to sensitize, train, build capacities and facilitate IPR and technology transfer and commercialization activities in academia, research institutions (both public funded and private), startups and SMEs with in the geographical regions of Kerala, Tamil Nadu (except Chennai), Pondicherry and Andamans. For beneficiaries in other regions, TIPS@TIMed will facilitate interaction with network of other RTTOs across the country. TIPS@TIMed is one of the seven RTTOs set up by NBM. If you are a student, faculty, researcher, scientist, Institution or a start-up founder with novel ideas/innovations/inventions, but are not sure how to protect them or take them forward, we will be happy to discuss ways and means of protecting and commercializing it.
Your ideas may be as diverse as a mobile app/an electronic device/a biotech product/agri-food-nutrition based/space tech/biomedical/automotive/consumer tech, we are sector agnostic and ready to discuss with you.
We believe that discussing with our team will help you in evaluating the ideas, assessing its commercialization potential, developing strategies for protecting and obtaining appropriate intellectual property, licensing of technologies, research commercialization, creating spin offs from your research, finding best fit partners from industry, exploring funding opportunities for commercialization etc.
We also offer a bouquet of training programs and workshops at various levels – awareness level, intermediate level and advanced levels to train students and faculty in Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and Technology Transfer (TT) topics. You may join some of our popular regularly held events or request for customized programs for your institutions.
It is also in our mandate to help you set up IPR Cells and TTOs (Technology Transfer Offices) in your Institutions and train your own Institutional teams to implement and manage these offices for the future.
We sponsor highly motivated and select faculty and researchers in our partner institutions to attend national and international training programs in the areas of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and Technology Transfer (TT).
