1. Is TIPS@TIMed a government institution?

TIPS@TIMed is a regional technology transfer office funded by National Biopharma Mission (NBM), BIRAC. It is a project implemented at SCTIMST-TIMed, which is a not-for-profit society. TIPS@TIMed is therefore not a government institution.

2. Is TIPS@TIMed profit oriented?

TIPS@TIMed is not profit oriented. Only a minimal fee is charged for the self-sustenance of the project.

3. Will TIPS@TIMed maintain confidentiality for the information shared with them?

TIPS@TIMed solicits only the non-confidential information from the applicant for the evaluation purposes. Only in case of patent filing, the details of the invention need to be disclosed directly by the applicant to the attorney.

6. Will TIPS@TIMed offer tailor made programs for our Institution?

Yes. TIPS@TIMed shall provide tailor made program upon request from Institutions on chargeable basis.

7. We are not located in Kerala, Tamil Nadu (except Chennai) or Pondicherry and Andamans. Will TIPS@TIMed support us?

If you are not located in our geographic scope, we will facilitate interaction with the respective RTTO of that region.

8. Does TIPS support startups?

Yes, if the startup is coming under TIPS@TIMed geographic scope-Kerala, TamilNadu (except Chennai), Pondicherry and Andaman.

9. Does TIPS@TIMed support private Institutes?

Yes, if the institution is coming under TIPS@TIMed geographic scope-Kerala, TamilNadu (except Chennai), Pondicherry and Andaman.
